the planck timeThis is the earliest state of the universe that can be addressed by physical theories. Before this time a quantum theory of gravity is needed for understanding. Around this time the universe was about 10-33cm across and the quantum wavelength was larger than the size of the universe itself. These quantum effects were later blown up like marks on the surface of a balloon. The fluctuations could have been the essential imperfections in the early universe from which the large scale structure could have originated. At this time the four forces of nature - gravity, the weak force, electromagnetism and the strong nuclear force - were completely unified and space and time could not be differentiated. - Jx References:
