sun engulfs the earth

The Earth will be engulfed by the sun. What will happen is the sun will eventually increase in size and luminosity to the extent that it will turn into a red giant star. At this point all the hydrogen will be burned up and nuclear reactions involving helium and heavier atoms will have taken over.

Through such it is predicted that the Earth will be burnt to its death. The oceans on Earth will cease to exist and with them will go a lot of the atmosphere, with life as we know it becoming impossible, if only for the intense heat. Nothing will survive as the whole earth is engulfed.
